Most of you would have have received a commercial sms on your mobiles very frequently you would have noticed you would get SMS from this address/number A-126333, BZ-55888, BZ-52233 etc etc you might get these spam sms minimum 2 a day, all the the sms contains this kind of prefix this is due to new regulation by TRAI(Telecom Regulatory Authority of India ) to protect interest of consumers on receiving unsolicited Commerical SMS and calls , TRAI ordered all mobile operators in india to prefix the identification tag before sending bulk sms on its network so that the Origin and sender of SMS can be known..

So if you receive a SMS with prefix VX-ICICI then it states V-Vodafone and X-Karnataka TA-ICICI then T states for tata teleservices and A states andhra pradesh and below is the list of codes of service provider and list of codes for states in india.


BSNL customers can put a break on these kind of sms by sending deactivation SMS request to "DNC DEACT" to 53733 or 3733 in case you like to recieve commercial SMS you can get it activated by sending activation SMS to "DNC ACT" to 53733 or 3733 i think the same SMS works for other operators visit NDC to know More information about this issue but You might have to wait for 30 - 45 days to stop recieving all kind of crap commercial SMS and calls.
